The HRD Council consists of a Chairperson and 11 members, representing the Government, the key economic sectors, the trade unions and persons having experience in the field of HRD.

Members:      

• The Financial Secretary or his representative;

• A representative of the Ministry responsible for the subject of education;

• The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry responsible for the subject of labour or his representative;

• The Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Board established under the Economic Development Board Act 2017 or his representative;

• A representative of the Prime Minister’s Office;

• 3 representatives of the key economic sectors, to be appointed by the Minister after consultation with Business Mauritius;

• One representative of registered trade unions from the private sector, to be appointed by the Minister; and

• 2 persons having experience in the field of human resource development, to be appointed by the Minister.
